The Support Services Division is the second largest division within the Police Department.  Support Services includes: The Criminal Investigations Division, The Communications Division, The Records Division, and The Courts Division.

The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is responsible for follow-up investigations initiated by the Patrol Division.  These investigations typically require advance investigative skills or in depth follow-up before charges can be filed or a case can be closed.  This division will also respond to preliminary investigations to assist the Patrol Division in completing the preliminary investigation.

The Communications Division is the link between the officer on the street and the person requesting help.  The Communications Division is responsible for answering the phone, the 911 phones, the radio, and assisting with anyone who walks into the lobby.  In addition to handling the communications requirements for the Police Department, they handle the communications requirements for the Fire Department which provides the Fire and EMS Services for the City.

The Records Division maintains all records for the Department and also provides IT services to the Department.  Copies of accident reports, crime reports, and crime statistics are some of the records provided to the public and news media.

The Court Division provides security in the form of Bailiffs during court and other times when extra security for the court or court personnel is needed.
