The Community Development Department is charged with the following:
- Provide for the community’s health, safety, and welfare through the enforcement of Building and Health Codes, and Zoning Ordinances;
- To serve as a resource of information on questions relating to the Code of Ordinances, Building Codes, Planning, and Zoning regulations and the Comprehensive Plan; and
- Utilizing the Website to better inform and serve our citizens.
Hours of Business
The Community Development office is located in City Hall, inside to the right of the main entrance. The department is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Plans submittals are accepted and permits issued during these hours.
Scheduling Inspections
Inspections are scheduled by calling the City's Inspection Line at (713) 662-8225. Inspections may be called in at any time. Inspections are scheduled for the next day unless the request is received after 4:00 p.m. Inspections received after 4:00 p.m. will be scheduled for the second day after.
Inspections are not to be scheduled with the inspectors.
